Service and Repair

Lorry loader types and applications vary a great deal and because of this it is important to schedule service inspections accordingly. During a routine service our factory trained staff will note any wear items and provide a detailed written estimate of any further work to be carried out. Minor defects can be rectified immediately keeping your crane performing with safety and reliability.

We offer:

  • Service and repair on all makes and sizes of crane
  • Overhead crane for major rebuilds
  • Fully equipped modern workshops and extensive stores
  • Factory trained technicians
  • Monthly budget contract plans
  • On-site service vans
  • Insurance repairs
  • Software diagnostics on latest models of Fassi cranes
  • Service and repair of ancillary equipment i.e. brick grabs, PTO/Pumps, hydraulic winches etc.

The details of the types of service and inspections are available on request. These can also be tailor-made to suit your requirements.

The administration of the schedules is controlled by Central Crane Technicians and we contact you when each service becomes due and provide your business with all necessary documentation to comply with current legislation.

Load Testing

Current legislation requires that all lifting equipment must be thoroughly examined at least once every 12 month period by a competent person. The requirements of the testing and the competence of the examiner are defined under the latest Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER). In addition - BS7121 Parts 2 and 4 recommend a 25% overload test be carried out:

  • Before first being taken into service
  • Every 4 years after being taken into service
  • Every 4 years thereafter
  • After a major repair or component change
  • When a change of chassis takes place

All lorry loaders installed by Central Crane Technicians are tested to 125% of maximum load using our calibrated test weights.

We adhere to the LOLER / ALLMI guidelines on lorry loaders by offering a documented 12 Month Inspection and 4 yearly load test system. We recommend this is done in conjunction with a regular 6 monthly service to minimise time off road and to ensure reliable future operation.

Operator Training

Central Crane Technicians offers 3 types of Operator Training:

  1. When purchasing a lorry loader
Whether this is a new Fassi or used model - the price you pay always includes operator handover training. This ensures the driver is familiar with the systems and features of the crane and attachments (if fitted), the PTO/Pump engagement and remote control operation. This is intended for operators who are already competent in crane operation.
  2. Lorry Loader Operator Instruction
This is a basic course offering practical instruction on the safe operation and basic care of lorry loaders. Each operator receives a certificate of competence. Courses are 1 - 2 hours duration.
  3. ALLMI Training
This is a 1 day 'site passport' training course featuring safety training, video instruction and operator practical assessments.

Courses can be taken at our premises or on-site.
